SRINAGAR: The manner in which pro-India politicians, rulers and MLAs have reacted to the brutal and cold-blooded murder of innocents at Kupwara and Handwara shows that the role of these politicians is only to safeguard the killer government forces, JKLF chairman Yasin Malik said on Sunday.
The inquiries ordered into such killings are only meant to “provide time to the killers so that they can prepare for more killings”, said Malik who has been detained at the Kothibagh police station for the past several days along with many other JKLF leaders.
“Shedding crocodile tears over those killed by trigger-happy soldiers and putting sacrifices of these innocents on sale is an old practice of hypocritical politicians. The so-called rulers are meeting families of martyrs after putting the entire Kashmir under curfew. On the other hand the resistance camp is put behind the bars and stopped from expressing sympathies with the bereaved families,” Malik said in a statement.
“Hundreds of probes have been ordered since 1990. But can these so-called rulers give one example where any killer soldier was penalised for his crime…These assembly members and rulers should know that it is they who provide shelter and legal cover to these killer forces and that is why they are directly involved in these crimes,” he said.
“These pro-India politicians lack courage that is why they put their political opponents in jails and police stations and are afraid of fighting them in political field. People of Kashmir cannot and will never surrender before oppression,” Malik added.
