SRINAGAR: Terming the statement of PDP youth president, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, in which he justified civilian killings by Army as “ridiculous”, Hurriyat Conference (G) on Sunday said the way he (Parra) tried to shield Army and men in uniform has “exposed PDP badly”.
The conglomerate in a statement issued here said Parra’s statement was aimed at “pleasing his masters in New Delhi”.
It also termed the visit of chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, to victim’s family under huge security cover as “rubbing salt on their wounds” and “based on vote bank politics”. “Had her conscience been alive, she would have resigned,” it said.
Hurriyat (G) said, “PDP is a creation of agencies and to achieve power, they befooled people in the name of change and security but nothing changed on ground. Kashmiris continue to get brutalised since decades. Now, Parra by giving clean chit to forces exposed the real face of PDP. The forces he is trying to shield are involved in gross human rights violations in Kashmir,” the statement said.
Over New Delhi’s move to send more troops to Kashmir “to prevent further loss of lives”, the conglomerate said, “India wants to strengthen its occupation in Kashmir with the barrel of gun. Aren’t half a million forces enough to kill Kashmiris ruthlessly?” it said.
The statement also condemned the forces’ “brutalities” on people in HMT Srinagar and Kupwara’s Lalpora and Trehgam areas.
“The deployment of police personnel in SMHS and Bone & Joint hospital wherein the injured boys are hospitalised and not allowing people to meet them is a state terrorism and inhuman act,” the statement said.
