Handwara: Curfew has been re-imposed in north Kashmir’s Handwara town after clashes erupted during relaxation hours on Monday.
According to the locals, people took to streets to protest against the killings as soon as curfew was relaxed this morning.
“Scores of protesters, assembled at main chowk, hurled stones and rocks to vent their anger, eye-wittness told Kashmir Reader.
The government forces deployed in the area resorted used teargas shelling to disperse the protesters.
The state administration had,on Sunday, announced relaxation from 8-11am in the curfew imposed following the killing of three civilians, including an elderly woman, by Indian army. The army had on Tuesday fired on locals protesting against an alleged molestation bid by a soldier in Handwara.
