SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani said on Saturday that pro-India political parties—PDP, NC, People’s Conference—“solely are responsible for the genocide of Kashmiris”.
“These parties are the main hurdle in the way of our cherished goal (of independence) and the struggle against illegal Indian occupation. I once again ask people to stay away from these puppets. The day people understand their designs will be the day of our freedom. So we must not boycott them socially but politically as well. We should not vote for these parties,” he said.
The ailing resistance leader also asked the police to “introspect” as they are “as responsible for killing and terrorising the people of Kashmir as the Indian army”.
“You must introspect where you stand. At the behest of your masters you kill and terrorise your own brethren and still have to show your loyalty certificates to them,” Geelani said in a statement.
“State police is equally responsible as it is hand in glove with Indian administration to seek rewards and medals and is behaving like more loyal than the king,” he said.
He said the police and pro-India parties have been waging a war on Kashmiris to get New Delhi’s blessings but still were “labelled as terrorists on Indian news channels over the NIT issue”.
Expressing anguish over the “merciless” killing of civilians, Geelani said, “In a systematic way Indian army with the help of state collaborators and agencies is not only terrorising people but committing genocide since decades. The army personnel who were involved in molestation of a Handwara girl tried to divert the attention from such a heinous crime by pumping bullets on protesters.”
