CIVILIAN KILLINGS DAY 5: Azadi camp denounces killings

SRINAGAR: Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Saturday said if world continues to remain silent over the civilian killings in Kashmir, India would turn entire Kashmir valley into a graveyard.
In a statement issued here, DFP general secretary, Moulana Abdullah Tari while expressing grief over the killing of one more youth Arif Hussain Dar in Handwara said, “When will we see the killers of our youth getting punished. Can the state government tell us whose blessings it is seeking by committing such massacres? Can they tell us how many forces involved in civilian killings in Kashmir were brought to book till date?”
“The reality is that the puppet rulers of J&K are unleashing a reign of terror in the state just to please their masters in New Delhi. They are equally responsible for the bloodshed in Kashmir,” he said.
Expressing condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family, Tari said “the whole nation shares the grief and pain of the grieved family”.
He also slammed the administration for “converting the valley into a garrison” and putting the resistance leadership under detention.
Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson while paying tributes to prominent pro-freedom personality, S Hameed on his 16th anniversary said “his contribution to Kashmir’s freedom movement will always be remembered”.
“Shaheed S Hameed fought on both political and armed front and was associated with the movement since early age,” he said.
A Freedom Party delegation visited the Bandipora residence of a renowned resistance leader, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani whose brother Aashiq Hussain passed away recently. It also expressed condolence with the Muslim League spokesperson, Rafiq Ganaie, on the demise of his uncle. The delegation expressed solidarity with both bereaved families.
