‘Nuthnusa incident should be eye-opener’

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Bar Association on Friday condemned the killing of a youth, Arif Hussain Dar by troopers of 47 RR of Indian Army at Nathnusa area of Kupwara district.
In a statement issued here, Bar general secretary, Bashir Sidiq, said the Nuthnusa incident should be an eye-opener for those supporting Indian Army on TV channels.
“This killing incident shows that Indian army is deeply involved in the killings of innocent Kashmiris and under a well-devised plan and New Delhi’s patronage, these troopers are engaged in the systematic genocide of Kashmiris,” he said.
Bashir said under the draconian laws, Indian forces enjoy impunity from prosecution and are not accountable before anyone. “Therefore, they are killing Kashmiri people ruthlessly, fearing none,” he said.
He appealed the international community particularly the United Nations, OIC, and other human rights groups including those of India, to “take notice of these happenings in Kashmir and come to the rescue of its people”.
He said Bar supports the shutdown call given by the pro-freedom leadership against the civilian killings.
