SRINAGAR: Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and JKLF (H) chairman, Javaid Ahmad Mir, on Friday protested at his residence where he has been put under detention by the state government.
According to a statement issued here, Mir also interacted with media at his residence and criticised the administration for crackdown on the pro freedom leadership.
“Curfew in Handwara and Srinagar, detention of scores of people, and vandalising residential houses are the worst-kind of state-terrorism,” Mir said.
The JKLF (H) chairman urged the international community and human rights bodies to take note of “the alarming situation” in Kashmir.
He also rejected the government-announced enquiry into the civilian killings, saying such commissions are constituted to conceal the facts and provide safe escape to culprits.
“The only compensation to such killings is complete demilitarisation of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
