SRINAGAR: The Kashmir University has postponed all the examinations scheduled to be held on Saturday, when a shutdown call has been given by various pro-freedom organisations to protest the death of three persons who were killed in firing by government forces in Handwara on Tuesday following allegations of molestation of a girl.
A KU official said all examinations scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed and fresh date will be announced later. Though no reason was given but it is said that the examinations were postponed following a shutdown call given by pro-freedom organisation, including both the factions of Hurriyat Conference and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF).
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education too has postponed all the examinations scheduled for Saturday.
“All papers scheduled in the Kashmir division on Saturday have been postponed,” JKBOSE official told Kashmir Reader.
