Srinagar: Both factions of Hurriyat Conference, JKLF, Bar Association and Hizbul Mujahideen have called for a shutdown against the killing of two people in Handwara.
In a statement issued here, Syed Ali Geelani termed the killing as “state terrorism at its peak”.
“I apologise to the Sikh community for not deferring the shutdown call in view of Baisakhi tomorrow as this issue is grave,” Geelani said.
The government will impose curfew, without announcing it, in old Srinagar and Maisuma to prevent protests against the killing.
Deputy commissioner Farooq Lone told Kashmir Reader that section 144, that prohibits assembly of more than four people, will be imposed in old city and Maisuma tomorrow.
