SRINAGAR: Tehreek-ul-Mujahedeen (TeM) has claimed responsibility for a grenade attack which took place at Goriwan Chowk Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.
A spokesman of the militant outfit, in a statement issued here, said that TeM’s squad targeted a convoy of Indian forces soon after Friday prayers when civilians left for their homes.
“The attack killed or injured some Indian troopers who instead of fighting back fled from the spot and started firing on civilians,” he said.
“We have reports that Indian forces are using some poisonous ammunition in valley to inflict maximum damage to people. By targetting innocent people, these forces exhibit nothing but cowardice,” he said
