SRINAGAR: Senior Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders including the heads of Islamic Political Party JK Mohammad Yousuf Naqash and Muslim Democratic League Hakeem Rashid, and Tehreek-e-Mazhmat general secretary Saleem Zargar on Saturday visited the families of slain Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Waseem Ahmad Malla, at Shopian in south Kashmir.
As per a statement issued here, the leaders on the occasion addressed the people saying, “The sacrifices of youth are valuable assets for our movement. Due to government’s suppressive policies, these youth are forced to pick up gun.”
They criticised the international community and oraganisations for their “criminal silence” over the Indian “brutalities” in Kashmir.
“Kashmiris have sacrificed a lot. The tortures and imprisonments won’t suppress us,” they said.
