SRINAGAR: Rahim Greens in collaboration with UNV, NYKS and Forest Department is launching a plantation drive in Srinagar city on April 2 and at Rajouri district on April 7.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, spokesman of Rahim Greens said that around 500 saplings will be planted at Rajouri district.
“Today we began a weeklong plantation drive from Kashmir University’s South Campus at Anantnag in collaboration with the varsity’s Directorate of National Service Scheme (NSS). District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Muneer-ul-Islam inaugurated the drive and planted conifer saplings on the occasion,” said the spokesman.
The spokesman added that the Muneer-ul-Islam highlighted the importance of plantation and urged upon students to develop the habit of planting trees. Dr Bashir A Nehvi, Director South Campus, stressed on conservation of natural resources and the rich flora and fauna of Jammu and Kashmir.
