Vohra asks Jaitley to release funds due to J&K

JAMMU: Governor NN Vohra has requested finance minister Arun Jaitely to ensure speedy release of funds due to the state.
The funds requested by the governor include Rs800 crore for providing interest subvention to the traders and business enterprises who were adversely affected by the 2014 flood, the last installment of state’s share in the Central Taxes (2015-16), Rs 649 crore due as the last installment under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rs 305 crore under MGNREGA.
The governor has thanked Jaitley for releasing Rs 1194 crore for disbursement of relief to the flood affected house owners. Vohra informed him that as of now about Rs 1000 crore has been disbursed to the entitled persons.
