Ganderbal : The students of Government Higher Secondary School, Hayan Kangan area of Central Kashmir Ganderbal on Wednesday morning staged a protest demonstration against shortage of teachers.
After boycotting their classes the students raising slogans demanding appointment of teachers in the school, the students held a dharna at Srinagar- Sonamarg road to lodge their protest due to which hundreds of vehicles stranded.
The students said that due to the shortage of teaching staff in the school, academic session of students is affected. “We were forced to lodge a protest as despite our repeated pleas for the appointment of teachers no step has been taken so far,” they alleged.
We appeal the education department to look into the matter and take immediate measures in this regard,” said a protesting student.
SDM Kangan Gulam Ahmad along with police officials reached to the spot and assured the aggrieved students that they will take the matter with concern officials .
On assurance the protesting students dispersed peacfully and vehicular movement was restored on the busy highway
