Kangan: Hundreds of students on Tuesday staged protest and blocked the Srinagar-Leh National Highway over shortage of teachers in a government school.
Shouting slogans, students from Government High School Surfarw area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district this morning took out a protest march and later demonstrated on the highway at Hariganwan Kangan
Protesting students staged sit-in on the highway and blocked the road leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded, demanding appointment of staff in the school.
Protesting students alleged that there are no required number of teachers in the School due to which our studies are affected
later police party rushed to the spot and assured to resolve the problems at the earliest. The protesters later called off the protests and the traffic on the highway was resumed
