Aussie athlete Pat Farmer mesmerised by Kashmir’s beauty

ANANTNAG: Prominent international ultra-marathon athlete Patrick Francis Daniel commonly known as Pat Farmer arrived in Kashmir on Monday to culminate his trip from Kanyakumari.
Pat’s Spirit of India Run is aimed at promoting an initiative to help girl child, “Nanhi Kali,” which will raise funds for the education of girl child in India.
“My message to the people across the globe is that if you have not been to Kashmir, you are not living your life,” Farmer told reporters at Jawarhar Tunnel.

Despite hostile weather conditions across India Pat has been running 70-80 kilometers every day for straight 56 days. Pat will conclude his trip which he started on 26th January from Kanyakumari during which he travelled some 5000 kilometers already.
Prominent tour operator and Secretary General TAAK (Travel Agents Association of Kashmir) Farooq Kuthoo, considers this as the best opportunity to promote Kashmir tourism across the globe and in Australia more particularly. “This is the best opportunity to showcase our Kashmir in Australian Market and elsewhere”, Kuthoo said.
Besides Kuthoo, Director Tourism, Mahmood Ahmed Shah, President TAAK, Manzoor Sidiq and filmmaker Imran Khan, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Muneer Ul Islam received Farmer when he entered into Kashmir valley.
