2 soldiers, civilian injured in grenade attack

ANANTNAG: Two soldiers and a civilian were injured in a grenade explosion in Bijbehara town of Islamabad district on Saturday.
Murugan and Akash, the two injured soldiers were immediately taken to the sub-district hospital Bijbehara, where doctors referred them to the Army base hospital in Srinagar.
The injured civilian, identified as Gulzar Ahmad Bhat of Dupatyar. Bijbehara, after being given first aid was referred to the SKIMS, Soura, in Srinagar.
Medical superintendent Dr Nahida said all three had splinter injuries.
“The soldiers had injuries in their heads while as the civilian had injury in his left arm. One of the soldiers has suffered grievous injuries,” the MS told Kashmir Reader.
The grenade attack by suspected militants and warning shots fired by the forces, witnesses said, created panic in the market. While shopkeepers downed their shutters, the pedestrians ran for safety.
