Srinagar: Two army jawans and a civilian were injured today after unidentified militants lobbed a grenade on an army patrol party in south Kashmir s Anantnag district, police official said.
Militants lobbed a grenade on an army patrol party at Goriwan in Bijbehara area of the district causing splinter injuries to two army jawans and a civilian, he said.
The injured were rushed to the hospital.
Security forces have cordoned-off the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the militants, the official said.
Meanwhile, Hizbul Mujhadeen claimed the responsibility of the attack on Indian army.
Hizb Operational Spokesperson Burhan-ud-Din told Srinagar based news gathering agency CNS that militants from the organization hurled a grenade over Indian army personnels.
“Operational Field Commander has congratulated the boys (militants) for this attack and has directed them to intensify attacks on Indian Security Establishment,” the spokesperson said.
