Avalanche warning issued

SRINAGAR: A medium-danger avalanche warning was issued on Friday for higher areas of Jammu and Kashmir, with people advised not to venture into these areas.
The warning exists for avalanche-prone areas situated at an altitude of above 3,000 metres including Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, and Ganderbal districts of Kashmir, and Kargil in Ladakh. The advisory was issued by Chandigarh-based Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE). It will remain effective over the next 24 hours beginning 5 pm Friday.
