SRINAGAR: To commemorate the World TB Day, a rally of students of Ancillary Nursing and Medical Training School of GMC, Srinagar was organised by district tuberculosis centre, Srinagar.
As per an official handout issued here, the DDC, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, on the occasion impressed upon the students to take steps to remove the social stigma so that the patient suffering from TB will be evaluated at right time.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nazir Shadad, said Srinagar is fully covered under RNTCP diagnosis and treatment facility for TB is available free of cost at every health facility.
Later on, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, flagged off the World TB Day awareness rally which started from ANMT School via Kaksarai Chowk to Syed Karamshah Sahib Chowk, CMO Office, National School , Karannagar Chowk, Medical College road and back to ANMT School.
During the rally, students informed the masses about their role in controlling the TB in the community. They also distributed pamphlets among them.
