SRINAGAR: Activists of women’s outfit Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Wednesday hoisted Pakistani flags at several places here on the occasion of ‘Pakistan Day’.
Activists of DeM hoisted Pakistani flags at many places in the city including at Lal Chowk early in the day.
The flags were also hoisted in old Srinagar areas.
Police later removed the flags.
In a statement issued here, DeM chairperson, Asiya Andrabi, said the creation of Pakistan on this day in 1940 was a dream coming true for all Muslims.
“The dream country became a reality which proves that it was not only a dream of all the Muslims, who put everything at stake to make it come true in the leadership of Quad-e-Aazm, but even Allah the almighty wanted Pakistan created,” she said.
“Pakistan is like an Islamic fort but the unfortunate thing is that it is yet to become a true Islamic country. Jammu & Kashmir being part of Pakistan was a reality and the world will have to make it see sooner or later,” said Andrabi.
