Training programme for farmers held at Agri University’s Wadoora campus

Sopore: To acquaint farmers with latest trends and techniques in horticulture and agriculture fields, one-day awareness programme was held in Agricultural University’s Wadoora campus, Sopore on Tuesday.
Large number of farmers from the different areas and students of different faculties and institutions participated in the training-cum-awareness programme.
The motive of the programme was to strength interaction of pest management with lead farmers, graduates, post graduate students and pesticide dealers.
On this occasion, students said that these programmes should be organised on regular basis. “These programmes not only create the awareness but also improve help in gaining more and more knowledge regarding the environment,” said Irshad Ahmad, a BSc agriculture student.
Fayaz Ahmad, a local farmer, said: “I am very happy to be part of this programme as I gained information about lot of things related to agriculture, which will be beneficial for me.” Farmer suggested that such programmes should be held at village level also, so that they can get benefit at their door-step. Dr Ghulam Mohammed, who was chief guest on the occasion, awarded farmers about pesticides and new techniques, which will be beneficial for the agriculture sector.
