Mobis India launches its first distributor for Hyundai genuine parts in Srinagar

Srinagar: Mobis India, which is a 100 percent subsidiary of Mobis Korea, launched Ace Mobis, the first distributor for Hyundai genuine parts, at Nowgam here on Tuesday.
SM Lee, Managing Director, Parts Division Mobis India Ltd inaugurated the distributorship, which is authorized to sell parts of all Hyundai car models.
Addressing media at a local hotel here, PS Bhumak, Group Head, Sales and Marketing Hyundai Mobis India said the distributorship is aimed to carry out monthly business of Rs 1 crore. He announced on the occasion that Ace Mobis shall be catering to the whole state of J&K including Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions.
He said Hyundai has been able to sell 30 lakh cars since its inception in India adding that only 60- 65 per cent vehicles are being serviced by the company while rest undertake servicing in the aftermarket.
“Ace Mobis has started with Rs 10-15 lakh monthly business which is expected to touch Rs 40 lakhs and eventually Rs 1 crore. Mobis India is targeting to touch Rs 2000-crore parts and accessories business this year and we expect to tap the segment of cars which go to the aftermarket,” Bhumak said.
Mobis India initiated launch of the Kashmir distributorship after internal company surveys had indicated that there is a huge dearth of original Hyundai car parts in the state, Bhumak added.
Tofail Khan, Owner, Managing Director Ace Mobis said the distributorship within its four months of operations is catering to 120 dealers adding that the firm expects to add 200 new dealers to its kitty soon.
“We hope to have a presence at Leh in next two months and this would help us aim for Limca Book of world records to have a distributorship on such a high altitude above sea level,” Khan said.
According to SM Lee, MD, Parts Division Mobis India Ltd, the state of the art storing facility at Nowgam enables the company to facilitate quicker and efficient deliveries due to greater flexibility with stock-holding. Among others who were present at the launch included GH Jeong (GM-Sales & Marketing Hyundai Mobis), Prashant Singh (Head of Marketing, Hyundai Mobis).
