Man beaten up by nightclub bouncers: Police

Gurgaon: A 26-year-old man was beaten up by at least seven bouncers at a nightclub in a mall at MG Road here, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on the intervening night of March 16 and 17 but came to light only today after CCTV footage of the entire episode was shown to Gurgaon Police by the victim.

A case was registered in this connection against 7-8 bouncers of the club under Sections 123 (concealing with intent to facilitate design to wage war), 147 (rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC in Gurgaon Sector-29 police station.

“We are investigating the case and are examining the CCTV footage of the club and mall to identify the accused bouncers involved in the crime. No arrest has been made by the police,” Gurgaon ACP Hawa Singh said.

Video footage shows the man being slapped, punched and kicked for more than two minutes until he falls to the ground outside the club, police said.

The victim, Rockey, while dancing in the club, had accidentally brushed a bouncer standing beside him. This led to a verbal duel between them and later resulted in a fight in which several bouncers of the club joined in and attacked Rockey.
