JKPCC secretary tours Sonwar constituency

SRINAGAR: Secretary J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, Abid Kashmiri, toured Sonwar constituency and met people from Nishat, Karpora, Brian, Chandpora, and Ishber.
The people told him that they were facing problems due to “negative and unfriendly” approach of LAWDA and its Enforcement Agency.
The people in various areas complained that despite being 200 meters away from Green Belt, they were not being allowed to undertake even minor repairs of their houses.
They also complained that there are several places within the Green Belt that are declared permissible for construction by the govt.
However, the constructions aren’t allowed even in those areas, they said.
Abid appealed the authorities to stop “victimising people unnecessarily”.
“They must understand that the High Court has stopped construction in Green Belt, but there are other where construction is permissible. But it is unfortunate that LAWDA is not allowing people to undertake construction of their residential houses in these areas either.”
