India using sedition as tool to silence dissents: Javaid Mir

SRINAGAR: APHC leader Javaid Ahmad Mir has on Sunday condemned the registration of cases under sedition charges against Kashmiri intellectual Professor Syed Abdur Rehman Geelani and JNU students for organizing an event in connection with the hanging anniversary of Muhammad Afzal Guru, last month.

Mir in a statement said, “History bears witness that the genuine voices have been suppressed by using the sedition charges.”

“In the name of fake patriotism and so-called unity, the fanatic Hindu forces are using this sedition as a tool to suppress the dissents in Kashmir,” Mir added.
