Stay away from ‘sectarian extremism’, Qasim appeals youth

SRINAGAR: Ameer, Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM), Dr Muhammad Qasim, on Friday appealed youth to distance themselves from what he termed as “sectarian extremism” and “show a moderate and tolerant approach” while dealing with sectarian differences.
In a statement issued here, Qasim said there is nothing wrong in having sectarian differences among Muslims but “exhibiting rigidity and extremism in it is a result of prejudice or ignorance”.
“We request the youth to stay away from sectarian extremism and show a moderate and tolerant approach in these matters. They should remain vigilant of those preachers who propagate sectarian hate to earn bread and butter,” he said.
“The main trait of these preachers is that they never speak against pro-India or other anti-Muslim parties but only propagate their sect,” Qasim said.
