Seminar on ‘information security’ begins at KU

SRINAGAR: A two-day national seminar ‘Electronic devices, systems and information security’ started in the University of Kashmir on Friday. The seminar has been organised by the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Technology and sponsored by UGC.
Prof Ramesh Gaonkar, renowned professor of electrical engineering technology at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse New York, while speaking on the occasion said, “Such conferences have assumed huge importance in the present times when technology is changing rapidly our way of thinking and living.”
“While our aim should be to catch up with the latest technological innovations happening around the world, we must ensure our research and technological innovations are designed and focused to cater to the local needs of millions of poor people living in our own country,” he said.
Prof M A Wani said, “The role of technology, technologists, and scientists is of paramount importance in today’s world and a game-changer in bringing about transformation in the society.”
