GANDERBAL: Army, under the aegis of Chinar Corps, on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Chinar 9 Jawan Club’ “to elevate the overall growth of youth of Ganderbal and surrounding areas”.
According to a statement issued here, Chinar Corps has come up with a concept of ‘Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs’ which are dedicated to general public “to channelise the aspirations of youth in a constructive manner and provide multi-faceted platform for their overall growth”.
“The club offers the facilities including internet cafe, outdoor gymnasium, volleyball, and basketball courts dovetailed with recreational activities like, carrom, video games and library,” it said, adding the children preparing for competitive exams were also provided counselling.
Meanwhile, according to a statement, Army also organised a medical camp at Lar, Ganderbal wherein free medical advice and medicines were provided to people. “Around 250 persons from remote village of Lar Tehsil benefitted from the medical services,” it said.
