Div Com inaugurates Kisan Mela at Pulwama

Pulwama: A one day exhibition-cum-Kisan mela organised by agricultural department Pulwama was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samoon highlighted the pro-farmer initiative taken by the government in agriculture sector.
He urged farmers to take benefit from one-day Kissan mela, which was organised to attract farmers and unemployed youth of the district towards the activities in the farming sector, which have income generating potential.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Niraj Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shahbaz Mirza and other officers of the allied departments were also present. Divisional Commissioner also distributed the cheques among the progressive farmers.
Various departments have established their stalls and displayed their products. The representatives of animal husbandry, sheep husbandry, horticulture and other departments informed people about various pro-farmer initiatives started by the government.
Later, the Divisional commissioner visited the sports stadium along with the team of officer where he distributed prizes among the winning football team. Speaking on the occasions, the Divisional Commissioner highlighted the role of sports activities in makings physical fitness.
