SRINAGAR: Welcoming the proposed March 17 meeting between the external affairs ministers of India and Pakistan on the sidelines of the upcoming SAARC summit, Hurriyat Conference (M) on Tuesday asked the leadership of both the countries to resolve all issues including Kashmir through a “meaningful dialogue process”.
“The Indo-Pak foreign secretaries meet at SAARC is expected to draw a roadmap for further meetings between the two countries on a range of issues including Kashmir. Such bold political initiatives are the only way to move forward,” a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement issued here.
He said putting Kashmir issue on backburner may “only create mistrust and acrimony between the two countries and vitiate the dialogue process”.
“We hope the proposed talks in Nepal would prove to be fruitful. The conglomerate has always supported dialogue and is ready to play its role in taking the process forward,” he said.
