SRINAGAR: Following an invitation from Pakistan High commission, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will lead a delegation of 35 leaders to the Indian capital city.
“The Chairman of the amalgam Mirwaiz will leave for New Delhi on March 22 along with 35 other invitees from Hurriyat as well as from Awami Action Committee (AAC),” media advisor to the Mirwaiz Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam told Kashmir Reader.
“Our executive body members Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Moulana Abas Ansari, Advocate Shahid Islam, Hilal War, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, advocate Abdual Majeed banday, Musadiq Adil, Javiad Mir, Mushtaq Sofi and other senior leaders will be the part of delegation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar too confirmed the invitation for the Pakistan day.
“We too have received a formal invitation from the embassy (Pakistan). Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, General Secretary TeH Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, general secretary Shabir Shah, provincial president Aga Syed Hassan, provincial president Nayeem Khan and other senior leaders are on the list, he said.
‘Pakistan Day’ is observed at the embassy on March 23 every year.
