Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Friday termed the statement of former chief minister of J&K and National Conference working president Omar Abdullah regarding Syed Ali Geelani as “frustration of his mind”.
Omar on Friday said ‘Geelani had supported Janata Party and Morarji Desai and he was not always a pro-freedom person’.
In a statement issued here, a Hurriyat spokesman said Geelani’s life an open book and he is known to whole world for his stand.
“He (Geelani) has spent his last 50 years in acute opposition of the Indian forced occupation in Kashmir and for this has spent most part of his life in different Indian jails,” he said.
The spokesman said the “childish” statement of Omar Abdullah “proven him a cheap person”. “Baseless and false propaganda against Geelani Sahab at a time when his health is deteriorating reflects Omar Abdullah’s ill-mentality.”
