Srinagar: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Kashmir on Friday commissioned state-of-art 4G based WiFi hotspot services at Srinagar International Airport. The services were inaugurated by Dr. Asgar H. Samoon, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir at Srinagar Airport in presence of Mohd. Salim Beg, General Manager Telecom, Kashmir, MG Mufti, DGM Srinagar, RK Shinde, Director Airport and Manzoor Ahmad, SSP (AHJ) Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Samoon welcomed the initiative and hoped that the new services will provide succour to the passengers more importantly to tourists. In his address, GMT Kashmir, Salim Beg said the services will be extended to other parts of the Kashmir to facilitate customers with high speed internet service through WiFi hotspots.
Spokesperson for BSNL said the WiFi services will be free for the first 15 minutes. The passengers have to login after turning on WiFi services on Laptops/Smartphone or any wireless devises. The BSNL-TWiFi prompt will come and the passengers have to register and will be provided with OTP (One time password). After verification the passengers will access browsing with BSNL WiFi hotspot. The first 15 minutes will be free and after that if the passengers want to continue they will be redirected to payment gateway after selecting the desired plan.
