Pulwama militants buried in new graveyard close to army camp

Baramulla: The two non-local militants killed by the Indian army in Pulwama on Wednesday were buried in a newly-created graveyard close to an army camp in this north Kashmir district.
Police officials said the bodies were shifted to District Police Lines Baramulla on Wednesday evening and were subsequently handed over to police station Sheeri for the burial.
“They were buried in the land belonging to lower Jhelum Hydro Electric Power Project (LJHP) where police buried the three non-local militants killed in EDI shootout last month,” they said.
Police had to create this graveyard last month when the people of Boniyar, Uri, did not allow it to bury the three EDI militants in the local graveyard.
The new graveyard is very close to the army camp located behind the police station, and not in a residential area. Situated on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway, the graveyard has a thick plant cover all around and is secured by iron grills and barbed wire.
