Coalition culture not in J&K’s interest: Farooq

Jammu: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Friday said that coalition culture is not the interest of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a party function in Jammu, the former three-time chief minister of the state also claimed that ongoing political stalemate in the state was a proof that “divisive” parties cannot sustain mandate.

“The 2014 verdict and the obtaining political stalemate in the state has proven beyond doubt that reactionary and divisive parties may manage temporary electoral gains by whipping up passions and polarising the situation but ultimately they cannot sustain the mandate, which is imperative for giving a sustainable government in a sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir,” Farooq said.

The function was organized to welcome Saraf Singh Nag, a former KAS officer, into party at SK Bhavan here.
