Srinagar: A delegation of AHROL called on Parvez Dewan, advisor to the Governor, on Wednesday. The delegation apprised him about the plight of Lal Chowk viz-a-viz tourist and commercial activities, and its development.
In a statement issued on Thursday, General Secretary, AHROL, said the attention of the advisor was drawn towards designating a mini-tourist reception centre in the premises of Hotel Lala Rukh. The delegation also pleaded that SRTC should operate luxury tourist mini buses to different tourist destinations.
He said the advisor was also apprised about the development of the Saddar Court premises to maintain it as a Heritage site. Besides, the beautification and shabby condition of the premises of burnt down pladdium structure was also discussed with Governor’s advisor. Upon hearing the concerns, Dewan desired to visit Lal Chowk on Thursday to take stock of the situation.
