Tourism Deptt reviews arrangements for ’Spirit of India Run’

JAMMU: An Australian contingent led by former Parliamentarian, Pat Farmer which started ’Spirit of India Run’ from Kanyakumari on 26 January 2016 is entering Jammu and Kashmir on 24 March.
Director Tourism Jammu, R K Verma reviewed the arrangements to be put in place for the contingent during its stay in Jammu.
Detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, boarding and lodging, organising of cultural event, conducting sight-seeing of historical places in Jammu division and preparation of promotional banners including posters, tea shirts and caps.
The meeting was informed that the contingent will conclude its “Spirit of India Run” in Srinagar on 31 March.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Information Jammu, Chief Executive Officers of Patnitop Development Authority and Lakhanpur Sarthal, Deputy Director Publicity Tourism, Deputy General Manager, JKTDC and other concerned officers of the Tourism Department and JKTDC.
