Kashmir: Two Youth wounded in Army firing

Anantnag: Two youth were injured after Army opened fire in Kashmir’s Ashmuqam in Anantnag district on Tuesday morning.
Official sources said, the youth were injured after army fired upon people who allegedly hurled stones on them during a cordon and search operations. The duo has been identified as Javid Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Iqbal Wani and Amir Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid resident of Ashmuqam.
Javid has received bullet in his left arm while a bullet hit Adil in his neck. The duo has been removed to Srinagar for treatment.
Defense spokesman Colonel N N Joshi said he has no confirmation about the incident yet. “I will speak to my concerned officials. Only then I can comment whether army has opened fire or not,” he said.
Meanwhile, a shutdown is being observed in the area against the firing incident.
