SRINAGAR: The department of Information Technology, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in association with Rooman Technologies on Monday organised an awareness programme for its students about Udaan scheme at Sonwar academic block.
Coordinator of the Department, Prof A M Wani, Rooman Technologies, Project Manager J&K, Aquib Zahoor and faculty members of the department were also present on the occasion.
Prof A M Wani on the occasion asked the students to avail benefits of the scheme, launched by the Government of India, wherein the candidates aspiring for jobs, receive six months pre-placement training in the concerned field with monthly stipend, before getting employed in multinational companies. “The students passing out from the Department during this year should get serious about their career in the field of Information Technology and utilize this golden opportunity to get employment with a proper remuneration package,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Aquib Zahoor dwelt about the scheme with special emphasis in the field of networking. He said that Udaan, programme is a special initiative to address the needs of the educated unemployed in Jammu and Kashmir. “Udaan program is focused on youth of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) who are graduate, post graduate and three year diploma engineers. The aim is to provide skills and job opportunities to the youth. Simultaneously, the aim is also to provide exposure to corporate India towards the rich talent pool available in J&K,” he said, adding that the programme has been designed to encourage corporates to travel to J&K, meet the youth and hire aspiring youth in J&K who wish to explore the opportunity to work with them.
