SRINAGAR: Awami Itihad Party (AIP) president and independent MLA Er Rashid on Sunday asked youths to play role in changing the political uncertainty and “hegemony” of few families over the state’s political spectrum.
According to a statement issued here, Rashid while addressing a function in Kulgam in which several youths joined the party said successive governments and political parties “have left no stone unturned in exploiting the sentiments of youths especially in the name of creating jobs”.
“Once these parties achieve power, their priorities change. It is high time for youths to come forward and play a crucial role in shaping a political struggle for the resolution of Kashmir and to force political parties to deliver over the issues pertaining to governance and other promises,” Rashid said.
He said on one hand, India’s private and public sector institutions have been made a “no-entry” zone for Kashmiris and on other side, the people of this state are not allowed to travel abroad to get jobs.
