India surpassed records of tyranny in Kashmir: Freedom Party

SRINAGAR: Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Sunday said India “has surpassed the records of inflicting tyranny and brutality upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir”.
It also said Kashmiris will continue to offer “invaluable” sacrifices for freedom.
According to a statement issued here, DFP organised a meeting of its district presidents and representatives here at party headquarters in Sanat Nagar. The meet was presided over by senior party leader Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar.
Addressing the participants, Sodagar deliberated upon the prevailing political situation of the state and condemned the continuous detention of DFP chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah who was arrested on February 24 and is lodged in police station Rajbagh here.
“Putting the pro-freedom leadership under house arrest or detaining them in police stations is aimed at keeping people away from the real leadership and to create a gulf between the two,” Sodagar said, adding, “Such oppressive and suppressive measures won’t break our resolve to fight or deter us from pursuing the path of seeking freedom from Indian forcible occupation.”
Conveying the message of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Sodagar said, “India has let loose the reign of terror and oppression upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Killings and arrests have become a routine and people feel suffocated as the whole state has been turned into a virtual jail.”
Criticising the “unsympathetic” attitude shown by world leadership towards the “grave” situation in J&K, he said “such criminal silence is encouraging India to further strengthen its illegal occupation of the state and boosts the morale of its troops to go berserk and kill people mercilessly”.
The meeting was attended by DFP representatives and district presidents including Er Farooq Ahmad Khan, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Zahoor Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad Wani, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Amin, Abdul Gani, Masood Ahmad Bodah, Gilkaar Sahib, Peer Inauatullah, Mushtaq Ahmad, Muhammad Ibrahim, Sajad ul Haq and Tanveer Ahmad.
Advocate Fayaz urged all the participants to strengthen the party at grassroots level and consolidate public relations.
