‘Bajrang Dal activists’ attack church, thrash congregants

Raipur: About 25 men, believed to be Bajrang Dal activists, entered a church in Kachna area of Raipur in Chhattisgarh state of India on Sunday during a prayer service, beat up the people inside and vandalised the holy place.
NDTV quoting eyewitnesses said the men entered the church at noon, raising slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”, and roughed up most of the 65 worshippers. They didn’t spare women either.
Arjun Pannalal, president of Chhattisgarh’s Christian Forum, who filed a complaint with the police, alleged that the miscreants were activists of Bajrang Dal, NDTV said.
“They started damaging everything and tore up the women’s clothes… They also knocked down a child… When the police came, they ran away,” he told the media.
