Army inducts 242 youth into JAKLI

Srinagar: Army has inducted 242 trained youth from the Jammu and Kashmir into Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry regiment at Rangreth here.
PRO (Def) Srinagar, Col NN Joshi in a statement to KNS said that these new recruits were congratulated by their parents and Lt Gen Satish Dua, Chinar Corps Commander, who recently assumed charge of 15th Colonel of the Regiment.
“The new recruits held a passing out parade in the presence of their parents, relatives and Corps Commander,” Joshi said.
He said that after a strenuous training regimen of eleven months, the latest batch of recruits of 103 Course Serial, today put up an impressive display of Passing out Parade at the Bana Singh Parade Ground here.
Lt Gen Dua, complimented the young soldiers for the high standard of Parade and impressed upon unflinching service to the nation.
“He also praised their cont-ribution in encouraging more youth from J&K to come forward to join security forces and even highlighted the vital role played by their parents in motivating their children and wards to join this noble profession.”
Dua also presented awards to the meritorious recruits who excelled in various facets of training.
“Recruit Rajiv Sharma was awarded the ‘Shere-e-Kashmir Sword of Honour’ for being adjudged ‘Overall Best Recruit’. The ‘Chewang Rinchen Medal’ was received by Recruit Iqbal Mohd Baba of Baramulla for being adjudged ‘Best in Firing’ and Recruit Aamir Mushtaq of Bandipora bagged the ‘Bana Singh Medal’ for being Best in Drill,” the PRO said.
