BANDIPORA: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, a constituent of Syed Ali Geelani-led Hurriyat Conference organised a protest rally in north Kashmir’s Bandipora town after the culmination of Friday prayers.
Hundreds of worshipers took part in the rally led by TeH leader Bashir Ahmad Qureshi.
In his address Qureshi criticized the policy of state government and Indian security forces to obfuscate the political voice of Kashmiri people.
He said the policies of repression will not suppress the people’s aspirations. “Policies of arresting the pro-freedom leaders and putting youth behind bars have neither worked in the past nor can it suppress the sentiment of freedom lovers in future”, he said.
“India has illegally occupied J&K and people of State are against this occupation,” he said.
He said India claims to be the second largest democracy in world but people of Jammu and Kashmir have never seen this democratic face.
