SRINAGAR: Kashmir Bar Association on Friday accused the government of India and its forces of “executing the policy of genocide of Kashmiri Muslims” since last 25 years.
According to a statement issued here, Bar in a meeting of its executive council members, expressed concern over the silence of world’s civil society over killings of Kashmiris.
The meeting also paid tributes to three youths, Ishaq Ahmad Parray, Asif Ahmad Mir and Ashiq Hussain Bhat, who were killed in a gunfight in Tral. “These martyrs laid down their lives for a noble cause. This should serve as an eye-opener for those who are interested in petty gains.”
Bar also expressed happiness over the release of Jawaharlal Nehru University student’s union president, Kanhaiya Kumar and demanded the release of other students who were arrested on similar charges including Prof SAR Geelani.
