SRINAGAR: J&K Yateem Foundation on Thursday conducted a three day refresher course on ‘Human Resource Management, Education & Career Opportunities’, at Baitul Hilal, Chawalgam, Kulgam, in south Kashmir.
The course, participated by around 110 scholars, is part of capacity building among higher education scholarship programme (HESP) scholars and to expose them to innovative ideas of human resource development including career opportunities and recreation.
Several experts delivered lectures on education, career avenues, healthcare and human resource arenas. The volunteers and donors actively participated in all the sessions and extensive question and answer sessions were held.
In presence of Chairman JKYF, Mohammad Rafiq Lone &and general secretary, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, senior executive member and accounts officer of the foundation, Muneer Ahmad Dar distributed cheques amounting to over Rs 4.67 lakhs among 110 HESP scholars. “Till date, over Rs 1.18 crores have been spent on HESP and HESP professional programmes.”
The statement issued here said since 2002, 500 scholarships have been awarded among underprivileged students which includes sizeable number of girl students. “Till March 2015, an amount of approximately 1 crore has been expended under the programme and during financial year 2014-15, it is about Rs 15 lakhs. In Jammu division, in first of its kind, 23 candidates including 7 girls and 11 non-Muslim candidates were selected for the award of HESP scholarships. Under HESP professional programme started in 2004, an amount of Rs 12 lakh has been spent till 2014.”
Chairman JKYF urged the students to take care of their interests of education and careers without wasting time. He stressed on availing right career opportunities at appropriate time with focus on cracking competitive exams like CET, AIEEE besides civil services examinations like KAS, IAS and allied administrative examinations.
