Burglary incidents irk Hajin residents

Hajin: The rise in incidents of burglary has irked residents of Hajin town in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. A delegation of local traders urged the police to check the burglary menace and bring the culprits to book.
Ina meeting of local shopkeepers President Traders Federation Mohammad Muzafar Parray expressed concern over growing incidents of looting shops during the night hours. In the latest case, shop of Mohammad Muzaffar Teli was broken into and thieves looted merchandise worth thousands of rupees.
Parray told Kashmir Reader that shopkeepers are feeling insecure and leaving the shops in the evening. He said the local SHO has been apprised on the situation and asked to keep vigil on the incidents of theft in the area.
Locals said that several shops and residential houses were looted during the past few weeks. The local SHO was not available for comment despite several attempts.
