‘Kashmiri prisoners’ trial delayed to prolong their detention’

SRINAGAR: Senior Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders including Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Rashid and Bilal Sidiqui in a joint statement criticised Indian authorities for “playing with the lives of Kashmiri prisoners by prolonging their detention”.
“Authorities by delaying the trials of Kashmiri prisoners want to keep them in incarceration for decades. Dr Abdul Hameed, Ravies Zaman, Mirza Nasir, Ahmad Waja, Abdul Gani Goni, Ali Mohammad Bhat, Javaid Ahmad Khan and others are languishing in jails from more than two decades despite being exonerated by different courts. Every time, new fake charges are slapped on them,” the leaders said.
They sought the intervention of the human rights organisations to prevent Kashmiri prisoners from the “brutal state madness”.
