SRINAGAR: The Hurriyat Conference (G) on Sunday said the armed struggle is an important front for “freedom movement of Kashmir and no power in the world can motivate us to compromise over Indian slavery”.
“By sacrificing their present for our future, these youths have put a heavy responsibility on us. We are bound not to indulge in any such activity that harms the martyr’s mission,” the conglomerate observed during its ‘Majlis-e-Shoora’ (executive council meet) held under its secretary general, Shabir Ahmad Shah at his Sanat Nagar office here.
“The freedom struggle will continue till Kashmiris’ wishes are not acknowledged and respected. Indian rulers should shun their rigidness and stubbornness and accept the ground realities. Kashmir is a disputed territory and its people will never accept and tolerate the Indian forced military occupation,” a Hurriyat (G) spokesman quoting executive council said.
Shabir Shah will also address a press conference on Monday at 12 noon at his party’s Sanat Nagar office.
“Kashmiris are the most needful party for the establishment of peace in the region but the keys to peace lie with India. It is India’s rigid and stubborn approach due to which bloodshed is spilled in Kashmir. Had India not snatched our freedom rights, our beloved children would not have agreed to pick up the gun. We are purely a peace loving nation and are struggling for our right of self-determination,” the meeting said.
The participants also paid tributes to the youths killed in gunfights with the Indian forces.
The advisory council said that the armed struggle is an important front of the freedom movement of Kashmir and our bravehearts are continuously sacrificing their lives on this front and our nation is indebted to their sacrifices.
The meeting was attended by the heads or representatives of Hurriyat (G) constituent parties including Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu Kashmir Employees Movement, National Front, Parivan-i-Walliyat, Tehreek-e-Khawateen Kashmir, Muslim Conference, Insaf Party, Mass Movement, People’s Freedom League, Tehreek-e-Wahdat Islami, People’s Political League, People’s League, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Tehreek-e-Mazahamat and Muslim League.
